(Sigh)...ya' know, I'm really tired of arguing with the stupid sheeple of our world about this....on BOTH sides...though I'm kinda' tired of both sides for other reasons anyway...

On one side, you have people who automatically assume the system works and that no matter where you are in the United States, and that only POlice should have guns. They think just because there is a law, people will follow it, and just because society doesn't approve, people won't do it - boy how wrong these nerds are. The other side thinks EVERYONE should have a gun, the kids, the elderly, the grown ups, the "Libruhls" (because in their minds, we can't shoot worth a damn for some reason, like somehow your political affiliation means you can't learn how to properly use a firearm, lol), while sticking "Snek" on everything and trying to hide their KKK and MAGA associations.

I fall somewhere between these fucked up narratives...so both sides hate me...fuck y'all, I don't care.

We live in a country designed for Automobiles and you see how that has turned out. Every day, when you get up to drive, you are driving a DEADLY WEAPON! A typical consumer motor vehicle weighs between 1200 and 7000+, is capable of speeds up to and beyond 75mph, with a speed limit to match on the highways and some less filled roads. We administer a joke of a driver's test that basically anyone who can execute a 3-point turn and read blurry old 1970's slides in a fancy microfische can easily pass without any sort of check on their abilities for the rest of their lives. I "Share" the road (and share is a word I use lightly on THEIR Behalf) with these idiots, and I've witnessed so much shit that is the vehicular equivalent of sweeping (the act of pointing a gun in a direction you don't intend to shoot because you're being a careless fuckhead), or terrible trigger discipline that if the roads were a gun range, the range officer would have kicked at least half of you out by now.

But for the smooth brains on the left in back, the ones that never learned what "reality" is, and how much it truly sucks - regulation to a point nobody can get anything done, is not the answer. I'm not against gun control, but I'm for INTELLIGENT legislation designed in a way to keep the 2nd Amendment uninfringed, and I think we focus way to fucking much on the hardware.

Continuing for the left, a gun is just an assembladge of parts, just like your car! It is not harmful alone by itself. It requires a HUMAN to make it a problem. "But humans created them", yes, so HUMANS hold the responsibility for what they do with them then. IF you created it, you're in charge of it, and if you can't be in charge of it, then you do deserve some level of restriction - not for your safety, but for the safety of everyone else. What's the real problem with gun violence, only the one sole biggest issue in America today that gets swept under the rug like a pile of legos when mom came home from work and said to clean your room - MENTAL HEALTH.

This is why I agree with the left though, that guns aren't for everyone! The last thing anyone wants, is a psychopath to just wander into Cabelas and wander out with a firearm and start shooting people because the voices in their head said to do it. That's the worst problem. The hardware isn't the issue. PEOPLE are, and their MENTAL HEALTH being the biggest cause for alarm.

Now, I'm not saying ALL people with mental health issues should be barred from owning a deadly weapon. It should be looked at in degrees. Almost ALL of us count as being mentally "broken" in some way, it just depends now broken that mental health really is. Take a look around you, take a look at how sick, fucked up, broken, and messed up society is, and how much it breaks us.

At the lowest level are people with stuff they know they have, maybe undiagnosed, but won't act upon. Maybe some agoraphobia, maybe very mild depression, mildly misanthropic, but won't act on it because our reasoning is stronger than the feelings that keep tugging at us. We think "I hate people" followed by the logical feeling of "well, I think it'd be better to go home, eat something, and take a nap"...then six days later we're at the range hitting the bullseye and thinking "ya' know what, these guys aren't so bad, kinda' cool actually, maybe I'll come back". This is the majority of Americans right now, and it's something that CAN change, if we change the way society works. Once upon a time, I probably would have been fine with 99% of the population being armed, but right now, I'm not so sure. Look, we're the people keeping the ball rolling for everyone through this shit, we're tired, we're worn, but fuck it all, we might feel like shit right now, but we know we'll be level headed later if you just let us recover.

Anything above that should be denied access to any form of weapon.

The right has really made a case that many, if not most of the republicans fall into this category. Seriously, you expect us to take you seriously after 40+ years of you crying "Second Amendment, NRA, NRA, NRA" and how we NEED this for tyrants, well, you just elected one, thanks for proving your hypocrisy. And these people drank the fucking Kool Aid so hard they now believe only they should be armed...all the more reason for those of us on the left to take up arms, because I don't feel safe in a world where G.I. Jarhead is allowed to run amok with his AR-15 in any capacity, and get off scott free just because he pledges allegiance to tratiors, war criminals, tyrants, sexual abusers, pedophiles, and because "whell...he's rich uh' so he can do whutever he want's to do!". Fuck that shit. Luckily, seems some of them are dropping off...people in cults are severely mentally ill, and the right has become a cult rather than a political party.

The hardware means fuck-all. I'm tired of the left and their horseshit about "Assault Rifles" - basically anything that's a "long gun" that doesn't have wood on it - is somehow, in the leftists mind, more deadly than grandpa's old Mosin Nagant! What's funny is, you could be looking at a Ruger 10/22 in an AR's clothes - but it's still a small caliber rifle typically used for personal protection from rabid varmints and cheap plinking at the range. And a Mosin Nagant...that mofo will tear your ass up! I'm sure most of these politicians couldn't tell a Glock 17 from a Mossberg Maverick 88 from a Ruger 10/22 from a Armalite AR-15. Most of them don't even care, they just want to avoid all the logic and questions, and this is where the left has fallen completley apart in my mind. The party of "research and intelligence" all of a sudden is scared because the research involves something that could kill someone...but then considering their handling of motor vehicles, I'm not surprised either.

And you know what, as a civilian, I respect that. If firearms aren't your thing, then they aren't your thing. Nobody's telling you you NEED a gun. There's plenty of alternatives. For years in my "gun free" household I had pepper spray, a machete, and brake spray, and a tire iron. The right do bear arms doesn't, and shouldn't just cover guns. Everyone wants to talk about the guns because they're a mysterious object with a "Special interest" tag. But it also covers anything else that can be used as a weapon: Machetes, Ninja Stars, Knives of all types...even Butter Knives, a #2 Pencil, folding chairs, power saws, Apache Helicopters, Tanks, Bi-PLanes, and anything else you'd find on a Atari 2600 Combat game label pretty much. THIS Guy got the picture perfectly...

So if I was so "Well armed" with those other items, why did I "feel the need" to get a gun? Honestly, like most people who don't tie their gun ownership to their politics do - because I went through a period with a bad neighbor, and standing in your house witha double sided Machete from Man Crates at 3:00am while someone is being pummeled against your apartment door..I realized how Unsuitably armed I was if the other guy happened to have a gun, and I realized with the POlice taking over 45 minutes to show up...maybe it'd be better off to blow an assailants ass away before they do so to me. And since I'd owned guns before, I knew what was involved in all of that.

And let's get to the last part of it, and one reason the republicans have lost any respect for their 2nd Amendment beliefs...a huge part of owning a gun, or guns, is TO NOT FUCKING ADVERTISE!!! This was an epiphany I had one day. All these guys are asking to have their shit taken away as soon as we suffer a tremendous social collapse. These will be the guys everyone will have extra time practicing for their constant planning because they are constantly TALKING ABOUT THEIR PLANS. Sure, criminals might stay at bay, but not all. Remember, Mental Health, criminals are often riddled with harsher issues than the rest of us, and some of them really don't give a fuck about Mr. Springfield holding a concert at the front door...for some that may even be the point! So it's better to turn this whole thing into a roulette situation for crime. That will reduce the rates and allow for both sides. That way the breeders with kids and half a braincell don't own guns but are less at risk, and those who do are the reason nobody will bother those that don't. Because nobody knows WHO Has the weapon. That's the whole friggin point! This is why I discuss this subject in quiet with people, and I don't get loud or crazy about it in public like some do...because hell, I might even be carrying that day for all you fuckin' know, and the whole point of Conceal Carry is the first word CONCEALMENT - that means nobody knows you're armed. I call it the "Roulette Effect" and it's part of how the 2nd Amendment is supposed to work. But restricting access to certain hardware because it "looks scary", or claiming nobody should have one because guys in blue uniforms have them already (some want you to own one in case they can't arrive on time), is stupid.
